Description
CPR stands for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. It’s a life-saving emergency procedure used when someone’s breathing or heartbeat has stopped, such as during cardiac arrest, drowning, or choking.
What CPR Does:
- Cardio: Keeps the heart pumping blood to vital organs (especially the brain).
- Pulmonary: Helps provide oxygen to the lungs if breaths are given.
- Resuscitation: Aims to restore normal heartbeat and breathing until professional help arrives.
Types of CPR Training:
- Hands-Only CPR (no breaths, just compressions)
- Adult CPR
- Child & Infant CPR
- CPR with AED training
- Often combined with First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare workers
